Insect porn of the day
Check out Neurophilosophy (an excellent blog, by the way, definitely will be included whenever I figure out how to set up my blogroll) for a really interesting post entitled "Large ejaculate from a spiny genital organ," which, beyond the intriguing title, is an absolutely fascinating look at the mating system of bruchid beetles (Callosobruchus maculatus). Check it out if you want to learn about nuptial gifts (basically, females will trade sex for drinks) and possibly the most brutal looking sex organ I have ever seen.

It is great how biology allows us to write/say the most outrageously sexuall things with a straight face. And then we accuse our readers for having dirty minds ;-)
I expected thousands to find that title intruiging, but I was wrong.
